busy day at outram park for the cleveland police fun day

Cleveland Police is thanking families, local businesses and partner organisations who helped make a fun day at Middlesbrough’s Outram Park a success.

More than 800 people visited the fun day this weekend which was planned by police working with local youngsters.

The event was a chance to showcase the emergency services to the local community and saw police officers joined by firefighters and healthcare professionals – meeting families and talking about their role.

Police officers from Cleveland and Durham’s Specialist Operations Unit who have taken part in the popular TV series ‘Police Interceptors’ also attended the event and had photos taken with young fans.

PCSO Debbie McClelland, who has been policing in Middlesbrough for more than 15 years,
organised the event. She said: “It was great to see so many children and families attending on the day. It’s important this was a free event and open to everyone.

“Some of the local children were involved in the planning and preparation to make the event a success. It was a really enjoyable day.

“We’re grateful to the volunteers who helped out and the businesses who donated so generously with food and prizes for a raffle – including 35 pizzas!

“Thank you to the partners who helped make it a success including our police cadets, Linx, Youth Focus, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Area Care, CIPHER Medical, MFC Foundation and friends and members of the community."
